Over the past three years Holy Angles has cultivated a very strong relationship with Marian University. This partnership has allowed both Holy Angels and Marian to plant seeds of excellence into our scholars and students respectively. Four years ago a proposal was sent to the Klipsch Educators College at Marian University to start a summer school program.
As this program was being developed and planned the world decided to put a wrench in the plans and the pandemic hit. In the fall of 2020, individuals from both Holy Angels and Marian were back at it again trying to implement programs to help recover the learning loss during the pandemic; the summer school program was priority number one for the summer of 2021. Over the past two summers the Summer Enrichment program has served over 75 Holy Angels scholars and 12 Marian education students.
During the 2021-2022 school year a literacy tutoring program was also developed to serve Holy Angels scholars on Tuesdays. This program provides the opportunity for over 30 Marian education students to work with K-3rd grade scholars each week to help build foundational literacy skills, focusing on reinforcing the lessons taught each week in the classroom. This school year the partnership has expanded again to include math tutoring to over 20 scholars from five Marian education students.
